Printwell Books

Printwell Books—a new type of publishing

Printwell Co-operative began back in 1987 in the Dublin Resource Centre in Temple Bar at the time a hang-out for revolutionaries, feminists, anarchists, republicans, marxists, thespians etc; all feuding with each other around bowls of cheap nutritious vegetarian food in the Well Fed Café. It has all since sadly passed into legend.

There was a time when David Norris brought Ted Kennedy there… (and that’s another story).

From Temple Bar Printwell Co-operative hung on till 2011 in new premises in North Richmond Street when finally it crashed and Printwell Design rose out of the ashes based off Sheriff St in the North Wall. Printwell Books now based in Dun Laoghaire is a division of Printwell Design specialising in new and historical publications.
